Vice President and Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) Chairman Jejomar C. Binay on Saturday led the awarding of 114 Transfer Certificates of Title (TCTs) to beneficiaries of the Sambaville housing project in Antipolo City.
The awardees are members of the Samahan ng Magkakapitbahay Purok VI Homeowners Association, Inc. who have completed payment of their housing loan amortizations.
Residents of Sambaville were former occupants of properties in Katipunan Valley and Ronas Garden in Quezon City. They joined the pioneering settlers in Purok VI and organized themselves to become the Samahan ng Magkakapitbahay homeowners association and created the Sambaville community.
In 1995, they acquired the 6.8-hectares housing in Sitio Kaybagsik, Brgy. San Luis, Antipolo City through the Group Land Acquisition and Development (GLAD) Program of Pag-IBIG Fund.
Meanwhile, Binay advised the other beneficiaries to continue paying their monthly amortizations.
The GLAD Program allows organized groups of formally-employed Fund members to avail of loan assistance from Pag-IBIG Fund which covers land acquisition and development for housing purposes.
The loan proceeds for land acquisition will be released directly to the landowner while that for site development will be paid to the developer or contractor engaged to undertake the site development.
Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Atty. Darlene Berberabe who also attended the ceremonies said that beneficiaries of GLAD would still be eligible to avail of house construction loan in accordance with Pag-IBIG guidelines on end-user financing scheme.
