Vice President Jejomar C. Binay will lead the awarding of housing units to indigenous people families in Pampanga on Tuesday, August 7, 2012.
Binay will award an initial number of 16 housing units to Nabuklod Aeta families qualified for National Housing Authority’s (NHA) Housing Assistance Program for Indigenous Peoples (HAPIP) in Nabuklod Upland Resettlement Project in Brgy. Nabuklod, Floridablanca, Pampanga.
Pursuant to NHA Board Resolution No. 5342 dated 22 July 2012, P14 million fund was allocated for the construction of 350 core houses for Nabuklod Aeta communities in Floridablanca such as Brgy. Nabuklod, and including those of Brgys. Camachille and Mawakat.
The Provincial Government of Pampanga shall undertake the development and construction of the said core housing units.
Nabuklod Aetas, who originally came from Old Nabuklod, Floridablanca, are one of the affected communities of Mt. Pinatubo eruptions on June 15, 1991.
Pampanga Governor Lilia G. Pineda, Floridablanca Mayor Eduardo Guerrero, NHA General Manager Chito M. Cruz, a representative of National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP), Region 3 and members of Tribung Ayta ng Floridablanca, Pampanga are expected to attend the awarding ceremony.
