Vice President and housing czar Jejomar C. Binay Friday assured Isla Puting Bato fire survivors that they will be relocated next week.

                  “Sisimulan na po natin ang paglilipat ninyo sa susunod na linggo. Makakaasa kayong hindi po kayo pababayaan ng ating pamahalaan,” Binay said during his visit to the Del Pan Sports Complex that served as temporary shelter for the survivors.

                  The National Housing Authority (NHA) has prepared an initial 600 units in Southville 8b and 8c in Montalban, Rizal for the affected residents. Relocation is scheduled on May 29 and 31.

                  Binay also guaranteed assistance to those who opted to return to their respective provinces.

                  “Huwag kayong mag-alala at tutulungan din po kayo ng ating pamahalaan. Kaagapay n’yo kami hanggang sa makauwi kayo sa inyong mga probinsya,” the Vice President said.

                  Meanwhile, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) has donated three sacks of used clothing and 1,500 blankets to the affected families. The OVP is also set to give food items as directed by the Vice President.
