Vice President Jejomar C. Binay will leave on Sunday for Kuala Lumpur to attend the Philippine - Malaysia Investment Partnership Forum from May 27-29.

                  Binay is also scheduled to meet with top Malaysian officials namely, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Minister of International Trade and Industry YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Bin Mohamed, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato’ Sri Anifah Aman as well as former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.

                  “I am confident that my visit to Malaysia will further strengthen the economic and diplomatic ties between our countries. It is an excellent opportunity to bring the good news about the Philippines to the leaders and ranking officials of Malaysia led by the Prime Minister and to their business community,” Binay said.

                  While in Malaysia, the Vice President will also be attending the inauguration of the newly renovated Philippine Embassy. He will also hold meetings with the Scouts Association of Malaysia, Malaysia – Philippines Business Council, and hold a dialog with the Filipino Community.

                  After his visit to Malaysia, Binay will proceed to the United States where he will attend several official activities from May 30 to June 4.

                  Binay is slated to be the Closing Speaker at the 5th Global Housing Finance Conference at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington DC and is expected to meet with World Bank Executive Director Rogerio Studart.

                  Binay, the Presidential Adviser on Overseas Filipino Workers Concerns, will also hold a dialog with the Filipino Community in Washington and is scheduled to meet with Amb. Luis C. de Baca of the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, State Department.

                  From Washington, the Vice President will fly to California where he will also be the Guest of Honor and Speaker at 114th Philippine Independence Day Celebration organized by the Philippine Independence Coordinating Council of Southern California.
